Volga-FEST (Russia) lifts semis output by 1.5 times

Russian steel works Volga-FEST has raised square billet output by 57% m-o-m, to 22,000 t in November, which practically corresponds to 100% steelmaking capacity. Production was low in October due to completion of technological equipment repairs started in July.
The plant preliminarily intends to keep output high in December. Production of square billet for exports is set at 21,000-22,000 t.
According to recent data, Volga-FEST produced some 185,000 t of billet in January-November, down 26% y-o-y. The material is shipped mainly to the Middle East and Turkey.
